The old saying goes that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Unfortunately, many people do judge a home by its furnishings. Bulky, lumpy sectional
No matter how comfy your broke-in sectional may be, it may be time to invest in a sleeker model. The options available now for both design and function are numerous and it should be fairly easy to find a solution that is big enough for all your friends and family to enjoy for movie night or the big game, but not so bulky or generic to not fit with whatever decor you enjoy. Also, with the innovations in power reclining technology your new sectional can be more useful than just a place to lounge and nap. Essentially, if there are plenty of stains, rips and worn down areas, it is definitely time to upgrade.
Enormous entertainment center
To picture what we have in mind, think about some of the early episodes of the 1990s sitcom "Friends," specifically the one where Joey builds an outrageously large (and ugly) entertainment center, which blocks some of each of their bedroom doors. While a nice gesture, we can all agree that it had no place in their tiny New York apartment. In your own home, you may still own a giant entertainment center that offered plenty of room for your substantial VHS collection, TV equipment, and huge stereo system.
As you have most likely upgraded your TV to a flat screen moving picture frame, traded in those VHS's for DVDs, and downsized your stereo for a space-saving sound bar system, you may not need your outdated entertainment center anymore.
Instead, trade out for a more modern, smaller option that will still offer plenty of storage but won't take up too much of your room. For more ambiance, you might consider an entertainment center with an electric fireplace unit especially if you no longer need that extra space for all the out-dated equipment.
