You might think that mismatched colors in your home is a decor faux pas. Believe it or not, contrasting colors can be a good thing, depending on how you pull them off.
One tip is to try different tones of seemingly incompatible colors. Pink and green, for example, seem like they’d be too overpowering, but Houzz recently listed several items that use the more subdued versions, known as peach and kale.
Here’s one more important thing to keep in mind: keep a proper balance. Say you have a couch in one color and cushions in another, very different color. The combination could work as long as you don’t display the second color too much elsewhere in the room. Instead, use this color more as an accent to really bring out the first one.
